Hollyford NS went on their school tour to Spike Island on Thursday June 6th. We travelled by train from Limerick Junction to Cork - Cork to Cobh. When we sailed by ferry to Spike Island. Our tour guide gave us a very informed talk about the history of Spike Island and we visited the modern jail, old jail and punishment quarters. The children took part in an obstacle course and relay races. Every one enjoyed a great day in beautiful sunshine.
