Volcanoes.
The children explored volcanoes! The children built their own volcanoes using newspaper and wallpaper paste and simulated eruptions using baking soda, vinegar and food colouring.

GAA Skills Competition.
Well done to the children who represented their school at the GAA Skills Competition in Dr. Morris Park, Thurles, on Friday. The children had a great day demonstrating their prowess and we are very proud of their performance!

Foghorn The Chicken.
Why did the chicken cross the road? To say hello to the children of Hollyford National School! There was great excitement in our school when Foghorn from Lossett Poultry Farm visited the school!

Litter Picking.
The development of children as proactive citizens and positive future rolemodels is a major part of the educational philosophy of Hollyford National School. This is why children were given the role of litter pickers on our most recent Trot on Thursday. The children picked up a lot of litter and it was great to help to restore the beauty of Hollyford.

Confirmation Retreat.
The 5th and 6th class pupils in Hollyford National School felt fantastic after their Confirmation Retreat in Holycross this weekend. This retreat was a wonderful opportunity for the children to prepare themselves for their Confirmation in May!
